Safeguarding & policies

Safety is our absolute priority.

The safety, wellbeing, and protection of every child and young person in our care is our unconditional first priority. Safeguarding shapes everything we do.

Our commitment

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility

We work with vulnerable children who have experienced trauma, adversity, and significant barriers to learning. Safeguarding is not a tick-box exercise — it shapes our recruitment, our environments, our responses, and every relationship we build with families and agencies.

Our safeguarding arrangements meet the requirements of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), Working Together to Safeguard Children, and the Children Acts 1989 and 2004.

Key safeguarding principles

  • Every child's welfare is paramount
  • All staff receive regular safeguarding training
  • All staff are DBS-checked before starting work with children
  • We work to safer recruitment standards throughout
  • We operate within the Working Together to Safeguard Children framework
  • A Designated Safeguarding Lead is in post across all provision
  • Deputy DSLs are trained and available whenever the lead is unavailable
  • We work in multi-agency partnership to protect children
  • Any allegation against a staff member is taken seriously and reported appropriately
