Safeguarding & policies

Every child in our care is safe.

Safeguarding is the foundation of everything we do. Our policies are robust, our team is trained, and our practice meets statutory requirements across all provision.

Our commitment

A whole-organisation safeguarding culture

Tuition Extra is committed to creating and maintaining safe environments in which all children and young people can thrive. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of every member of our team — regardless of role.

We work with some of the most vulnerable young people in Kent. Safeguarding is not a separate strand of our practice — it is embedded in every decision, every environment, and every relationship we build.

Our arrangements meet the requirements of KCSIE, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and the Children Acts 1989 and 2004. All provision is OFSTED-aligned.

Safer recruitment

All staff and volunteers are subject to enhanced DBS disclosure, identity verification, and reference checks before working with children. No one begins unsupervised work until all checks are complete.

Single Central Record

Our Single Central Record is maintained and reviewed regularly, covering all staff, volunteers, and regular visitors across all settings.

Safeguarding training

Every team member receives safeguarding training on induction, with regular refresher cycles. Our Thrive training deepens understanding of adverse childhood experiences and trauma.
